5 Week Fitness : Exercise Science

I started this program in the beginning of December and not in the middle of November which is  two weeks later than it was assigned because I could only go to the gym in the morning and not in the afternoon due to my basketball practices as well as homework.  However, I could not go in the morning during November because the first week I was sick therefore, I did not think  it was safe to workout and the second week I had no ride to the gym.  Nevertheless, I am still doing this program because after one month I saw tremendous results.  The program is called 5x5 Stronglifts and I choose this program because the workouts are quick, effective and improve my strength.  There are two workouts, the first one is workout A while, the second one is workout B.  The first workout  involves doing squats, bench press, along with barbell rows and workout B involves squat, overhead press, as well as deadlifts.  You must keep switching between workouts every time you go to the gym which is the reason, the first week I did  workout A,B,A then, the second week I did workout, B,A,B.  The third week is similar to the first while the fourth week is similar to the second week however, you need one day in between every workout for rest and I never worked out on the weekends.  For every workout I did 5 sets of 5 reps which is the reason the program is called 5x5.  Also, I started off with weights that were comfortable however, at the end of December the weights increased tremendously because every workout I had to add 2.5 pounds which eventually added up.  For example, if in workout A I squatted 95 pounds then in workout B I would squat 100 pounds and I did this for all the exercises as a result I can bench press 115 pounds however, when I started I could only bench press 70 pounds.  My initial testing was doing as many push ups I could until fatigue and I could only do 20 however, at the end of December I could do 50 in a row.
